I’m sitting here eating peas freshly picked from the garden after tie dying some shirts outside – I think it’s safe to say summer is here. And with summer comes heat. That’s why this month’s healthy resolution is to drink more water!
So it is always important to drink water. But in the summer months it is even more important because of the heat that can dehydrate us quite quickly. Did you know our bodies are almost 60% water? That’s a lot of water that needs to be replenished regularly. Here are a few other reasons drinking water regularly is important:
– muscle fuel
– helps kidney function
– fatigue buster
– helps keep your skin healthy and clear
– boosts immune system function
– prevents cramps and muscle sprains
– it is cheaper than buying soda…just get it at your house!
The amount of water you need varies by day, but on average an adults needs 8-10 eight ounce glasses of water a day. That comes out to be 64-80 ounces a day. I know it sounds like a lot, but you’d be surprised how much your body wants and needs water. A perfect way to get more water is carry around a water bottle and keep track of how many you’d need to drink in a day to get what you need. Take it with you everywhere and drink away! You might be surprised just how much better you feel.
