Hundreds of years ago when my husband and I were dating, I came up with this cheesy idea for Valentine’s Day. I wanted to decorate a pillowcase and have his mom (he was working on the family farm while attending college) slip it on his pillow for Valentine’s Day.  It said, “Heard the latest? You’re the greatest!” I used fabric markers to color a picture of Kermit the frog dressed as Cupid. Hilarious!

My kids will vouch that I don’t keep many sentimental items, but this work of art has survived many cross-country moves and thirty-one years of marriage. The colors have faded and the lines have blurred, but it is a great reminder of those fun courtship days of Aggie basketball games and evenings together laughing so hard my smile muscles hurt.

Here’s a couple easy pillowcase designs using the Cricut and iron-on vinyl.  If you’re a Cricut user, you can find the design project ready for you to use right here. Or you can just buy pre-cut iron-on letters. So, surprise your sweetie with a Valentine pillowcase – no singing frogs here!
