It’s no fun dragging yourself back into your weekly routine after a couple days off. Yet, the average person will see about 4,040 Mondays in their lifetime. That’s a lot of Family Home Evenings!
If you’ve got a case of the Mondays and need a little nudge to get FHE headed in the right direction, give MAGAZINE MONDAY a try. What I love about this is it requires little preparation, everyone participates, and we share inspiring stories and articles!
Here’s how it works:
1. Ask each member in your family to find a favorite story or article in their age-appropriate church magazine to share during FHE. So the young ones will look through The Friend, the teens will browse The New Era, and the adults, The Ensign. (Parents can help the little ones). This is a great after-church or before-church Sunday activity!
2. When you gather on Monday night, everyone takes a turn telling (NOT reading) the story they have selected or sharing some ideas from an interesting article. My kids really enjoyed Magazine Monday so we would do it every couple of months. Always easy; always uplifting!
3. Finish off your FHE with a fun game of Pudding Pictionary, Extreme Spoons, Around the World Ping Pong or Flashlight Hide-and-go-Seek! And remember: There are only four more days until Friday. 🙂
