Sometimes we think we couldn’t possibly be good parents because we make mistakes. Or because so much of the time, it’s just so hard.

Sometimes I yell. I feel like I’m losing my mind-and my temper.

I have no idea what to do for Sam.

You’ve heard them too.

Your girlfriends have said these things and you’ve jumped right in with something like this, “Did you see how you handled that name-calling episode? Top notch. 10 Things for a Family-Style St. Patrick’s Day

March 5, 2014

It’s almost St. Patrick’s Day and time to get your green on.  There’s nothing quite like being in Chicago for this Irish holiday with the dyeing of the Chicago River emerald green and one of the country’s largest St. Patrick’s Day parades. March: Up Your Exercise

March 3, 2014

So in January we reduced negative self talk.  In February we learned to sit less.  Now it’s time to up your exercise! Here’s the thing – I know “up your exercise” might sound a little weird. FROZEN Girls Camp – Day 4

February 28, 2014

I remember the first year I helped planned girls camp and once we were at camp and made it to the final day, all the leaders looked at each other with a “we finally made it!” face all day. And that is where we are today. But despite the tired and probably a little cranky…

Hola, mis amigos! Today is National Tortilla Chip Day and that’s one good reason to pull out a salty, crunchy snack. FROZEN Girls Camp – Day 2

February 22, 2014

There are lots of themes and ideas to get out of Frozen. But what we found most profound was the love, the relationships, and the change of heart. Family-Friendly Family Feud

February 22, 2014

I’ve wondered a few times in my life what it would be like to be on Family Feud.   SURVEY SAYS: I don’t really want to find out. I’m pretty sure that I would have a mind blackout-either that or a laugh attack (probably because Kellie-sister #2- was already having one). Both of which…
