I am no decorator. But there is one thing in my home that seems to be a favorite of friends and family who visit.
It’s my favorite too.
And it’s this simple little gallery wall that documents the growth of my little family.
It began with three pictures of Tim and I. One from when we were dating, one from our wedding day, and another from when we were newlyweds. I liked it then. I love it now. I think I like it more with each little human that joins us.
Now when I look at it, I see the four lovely years I’ve spent with this good man and the two incredible blessings that have changed our lives forever. I remember that day walking out of the temple and how crazily and completely happy I felt. I remember our first few nights with baby boy and how entirely unprepared I felt to leave the hospital. I remember homes, moves, backyard grilling, graduations, bike rides, and birthdays. And now I remember that morning, just seven weeks ago now, when baby girl greeted us and the world with a sweetness that has made my heart grow yet again.
It’s our story. And looking at that wall reminds me everyday that I have a ridiculous amount of goodness in my life to be grateful for.
I printed mine on 16×20 canvases and always find deals through Groupon. (Most of the time, the deals I’ve bought have been through Groupon with Canvas on Demand.) Be sure to check for shipping charges, because I’ve been surprised by those before. (As in, the canvas is a great deal, but sometimes they jack up shipping to something crazy like $18.99. Just be sure you know what you’re getting.)
My sweet brother-in-law designed the quote image three years ago. You can find this image here. (Which is really similar, I couldn’t find the original! Bah.) You’ll download it and then upload it just like you would a photo for any printing service you might use. I love using chronological photos in this wall-I think it really tells a story-but you can obviously do whatever your heart desires. And it will be lovely!
