I think scavenger hunts are a sure way to get a big group of people together and have fun. It’s an easy way to get everyone involved and interacting while not having to plan a ton or decorate the house or anything like that. In the past we have shared with you a photo scavenger hunt, a camping scavenger hunt and a gratitude scavenger hunt. So today it’s all about the I Spy scavenger hunt!
We’re going to play a little game to start off today’s post. Can you tell what company’s sign is in each of those pictures above? Here’s another look below…
That’s a little taste of how this game goes.
You divide everyone into groups of 2-4 to play. Each group will be given an envelope of 10 pictures that you previously took of various signs and locations around town. We recommend taking some pictures of places unique to your neighborhood or town to personalize it a bit, but also throw in some like the ones above that are more generic. Make some super hard and others a bit more easy! The team will look at each picture that has a small segment of a certain sign or location. They then have to find that same sign or location and take a picture of the whole thing. This is perfect for using your phone to take the pictures! The first team back to the home base with all the correct pictures will win! And it is always fun to share with the other groups the pictures you took.
An alternate way to play if you want to rely solely on your phones is to take the pictures before hand with your phone and then text them out to the participants as they need them. That means you won’t have to print pictures and the groups won’t have to carry them around. Both options would work great! We think this would be perfect for a youth activity, a group date, or even a family get together!
So…did you figure out what places are in the pictures?
- McDonalds
- Walmart
- Best Buy
- Wells Fargo
Happy spying!
