Last week was intense.
It kind of felt like Primary chorister-boot-camp. But the work is done and I’m more than happy to share the goods.
Rewind. So I was actually out of town this last Sunday and found one of those lovely and talented souls who was willing to cover for me. But I’d already planned the singing time in my quarterly planning early in the month. (Boot camp is about to make sense, I promise.)
What I’d planned was a 2015 Primary Program review (based on this post from Camille). Basically, the kids sing through or listen to all of the 2015 songs with a cute little worksheet that outlines what all of the songs are. (I used Camille’s, you can find that here.)
So I decided it was a great reason to get all of my flip charts ready for the year. Like I said, it made for a boot-camp kind of week, but I love love LOVE that it’s all done.
I ended up making all of my own charts and you can find all of them below. A couple of notes:
1. I didn’t do one for He Sent His Son, because we sang it last year and my kids all know it quite well. (I was put in after it was taught, so I don’t have a flip chart for it at all.)
2. I’ve chosen On A Golden Springtime and I Feel My Savior’s Love as our added songs this year.
3. I only got to the first verse for On A Golden Springtime by the time we left town. I’ll be finishing that soon, so check back for the pages for the second and third verse.
I think that’s it. I hope these are helpful! I like to print them out on regular paper, color, cut around the borders, and then matte them on a colored piece of card stock. The color “frame” really makes them pop and look finished. Be sure to check your printing margins before you print.
I Know That My Savior Loves Me
The Church of Jesus Christ
The Holy Ghost
Follow the Prophet-I used the gospel art kit for this one. I made a booklet, with the picture of the prophet on the left side and the verse on the right side. I used rings to piece the booklet together. If the gospel art picture was horizontal rather than vertical, I trimmed the edges to have it fit on the vertical page so everything was going the same direction.

I love your flipchart for On a Golden Springtime! Have I missed the post with the last two verses?!
Thanks!
Shari says
Hi Michelle! I have the second verse done but not the third. I should be adding those soon. When I do add them, I’ll just update the download on this post. Thanks for being patient!!

You print these on regular 8×11 paper? How is it big enough for the kids to read them? I’m not trying to be critical but genuinely confused. I was just called to the position of Primary Music Leader and am very concerned with how to teach the primary the new songs. I have ZERO experience so I’ve been googling for ideas like crazy!
Shari says
Hi Ashley! Yes, I print these on regular 8×11 sized paper. If your Primary is extra big, you might need something larger, but these have worked well for us. There are about 30-40 kids in our Junior Primary and 20 in our Senior. In Junior Primary, the flip charts are more for teachers and adults to follow along than the kids. The pictures do become cues for them, but most of them aren’t reading. Good luck! You’ll be great.

I am so impressed with your organization! I appreciate you, so much! This is so helpful for people like me, who aren’t quite sure what they are doing. Did you happen to do the additional verse for On a Golden Springtime? Just curious. Thank you!
Bonnie Clowney says
Thank you for all you do! It is amazing! I wondered if you happen to do the flipchart for the second verse of “On a Golden Springrime”?

Thank you for posting all your flip charts. They look great! In I Feel my Savior’s Love the word “gentleness” is spelled wrong (the T is left out). Can you fix that and repost it (PDF’s won’t let me edit)? Thanks!
Natalie says
Hi Lauren! Sorry about the misspelling. I wanted you to know that I got your note-I’ve since moved and had a new baby, so I won’t be able to get that fix to you. So sorry!
