Surprise #1 looked a little something like this…
All three of us pregnant and due within a month of each other this summer. (And matching. I love that we’re matching. We haven’t worn matching clothes for probably close to two decades when we did song and dance talent show routines together…)
Surprise #2 looked like this…
Two boys and one girl on the way!
Surprise #3 is that I actually have a few (just a few) tips that have made my mama life easier and sweeter in the last (almost) two years. And the big plan is to share them with you and hopefully pick up on a few of your secrets along the way. (Please share!!)
Tip #1 of my very best finds in the last couple of years has everything to do with a little corner of the Internet called Moxie Jean.
Moxie Jean is an online consignment shop that sells like-new clothing for babies and kids from top brands. I’ve never ordered anything from this site for my little guy that wasn’t in the best condition and at an unbeatable price.
I’m a girl who loves a good garage sale. But there’s an art to finding great resale items-and it usually has everything to do with patience, digging through tons of boxes or bags, getting up early to beat the rest of the Saturday morning crowd, and a lot of luck.
Moxie Jean is, just like their tagline says, “Resale Reimagined.” It’s like primo-consignment-shopping from the comfort of your laptop and pajamas. AND. You know that anything that catches your eye is in rockin’ good condition.
(I got my little guy’s snowsuit for this winter at Moxie Jean. Seriously looks brand new, Columbia brand, and for $17. Just one of my favorite shopping experiences with these people who are moms and know moms. Love it. Love it all.)
The site is so clean and easy to navigate. You shop by gender and size and then scroll through dozens of photos that look something like this:
You can buy outfit sets or look through single items. There are shoes and holiday items. You can shop specific brands or seasons. The inventory is updated with new items every Monday and Thursday. And you know what else? Your first purchase is 20% off and all orders over $50 qualify for free shipping. Win. Win.
So that’s the buying side of Moxie Jean. You also have the option of sending in the clothes your kiddos have grown out of to earn actual cash or Moxie Money credit towards future purchases. You can find out anything you’d want to know (what they pay per item, what they’re looking for, etc) about selling to Moxie Jean right here.
What I might be most excited about though is that, just like us, Moxie Jean has gone maternity (and provided us with the matchy-matchy sweaters and jeans)! TODAY-March 16th-Moxie Jean launches a maternity line. And I’m more than a little thrilled. Mostly because I trust this site. And I know I’ll find great items at equally great prices. And feeling put together while you’re growing a little human can make such a difference!
Because we really love this company and think you should too, we’re giving away a $25 credit to Moxie Jean. You’ll be amazed at what you can get with $25 on this site, so go! Check it out! And be sure to enter…

Good to know there’s something other than Kid2Kid for resale. Those people are sooooo snobby and the used Wal-mart clothes are overpriced.

That is SO cool you are all expecting so close to each other!
My best mama tip is keep trying new foods with them. Eventually you will find a healthy food you might not have thought they love but they do! Like my oldest loves frozen blueberries!

Such a great tip! I think there’s a lot I just assume my little guy won’t like, but he’s surprised me before.

I am one of those internet stalkers who loves your blog but never comments. 🙂 But with three little girls to dress, I’m excited to try out this Moxie Jean. I’m so glad you shared! I’ve spent hours combing through garage sales and thrift stores. And now that we’re in New Hampshire, my options are very few so this is great timing!
My best mom tip is to never let a day pass without taking time to snuggle. Even though my oldest is turning 9 soon, we still need our daily snuggle. Snuggles are even more important now because it’s the time when she can talk to me about anything. I love it!
Thanks for your amazing blog!

You’re so sweet! And your tip is even sweeter. Hope you find some fun stuff for your pretty little girls!

Thanks for a great giveaway!
My best mom tip for diapering 2 is to always do dual diaper changes. They keep each other occupied laying next to each other, and then they’re always on the same schedule. At least that’s how I’m keeping some of my sanity lately! 🙂
Natalie says
Cheers to you! I can’t imagine diapering two at the same time, but I’ll have two in diapers in just a few months!! Great tip.

You three are adorable! I need to try shopping at Moxie Jean!

Hi!
I love reading your blog and I am super excited to shop on Moxie-Jean! I love to dress my little in cute (and affordable) clothes! And I like to dress cute too! 🙂
My mom tip- Keep doing what you’re doing and don’t let what others say about your mothering bring you down! 🙂 I had a rough start with my little boy and people were constantly telling me what a bad mother I was (without know my situation at all) and it has changed how I look at everything. 🙂
Natalie says
So true, right?! We really have no idea what other people’s stories are. Thanks for sharing!!

So Cool I’ll have to check this out!!

One of my favorite tips is to trust your instincts! As a mom a lot of times I feel pressure to “follow the expert advice” but most times I find that my first instinct is what works best for my girls. 🙂 Love ya Nat!

One of the best comments I got when I was pregnant was that “the baby comes to live with you, you are not going to live with the baby”, meaning the tv can still be on, the floors can still be vacuumed, older kids still can play with toys, and there are days that the doorbell rings alot. But babies adapt and they get used to noises as part of there life too. It may of been the luck of the draw but I had a steady level of noise usually at all times and my babies and now kids can sleep through anything!!
Natalie says
So good to remember that babies adapt. Great tip! Thanks, Megan!

This is awesome! I was just checking out their stuff per your recommendation, and I love all the new stuff I now know about first time buy and when they update their stuff. Best mom tip I ever got was to teach your kids early on how to sleep:).
I love the picture of all of you in your cute striped shirts!

Just saw that I wrote the word ‘stuff’ three times in one sentence

Sleep is pretty much the best, right? Thanks for sharing your mom wisdom with me for the past couple of years-it’s made such a big difference for us! And I think your “stuff” sentence is awesome. 😉
